Vintage Finds #2
Went to a "garage Sale" the other nite, it was was in the gentleman's covered veranda in the backyard. 4 large tables of nothing but Christmas....it was wonderful. Only picked up the Ceramic Santa (no idea who Carol is but she did a great painting job back in '92)
and the plastic Snowman. The Snowman is much older, Hong Kong is stamped on his backside.
He was telling me that his late wife had "a thing" for Christmas.
The other half bought these at the Habitat For Humanity Restore. Throughout the year all the Christmas donations are stored away, and put out for sale around Halloween. The bottom right ones are not old, but for a loonies a box, still a great deal.
I am always super careful taking off the old metal hangers, no one needs Tetanus!

Happy Hunting!!
I found a lot of vintage baubles a few years ago, amongst which was a box of large, paper thin glass ones, that are so fragile. I've never seen anything like them anywhere, but can't sell them online as I'm certain they would be smashed to pieces after going through the postal system!
ReplyDeleteI find so many that are broken as well, kinda sad. Would not survive out postal system either.
