Vintage Christmas Finds

Picked up these beautiful Vintage glass Christmas ornaments during two separate  shopping trips to a small local store.

They are beautiful. Indents are my favorite, the lights from the tree catches them and makes them shine and sparkle. Since my tree was already decorated when I bought these, they will just have to sit in their boxes looking all pretty and such.

Until Next Time...

Christmas Crafting

I have been having a blast making these arrangements.

I used a cardboard "bucket" from the Dollar Store, the lights and Snowman are from Dollar Tree. The rest is from my Vintage stash as well as newer stuff. Most of the greenery is from an old garland that I have been cutting apart. The battery pack is tucked in the bucket. This is a good size at about 16 inches tall. Hubby will be taking this to work for a Secret gift Exchange.
I ended up using two sets of lights for this. I wired the star lights to the tips of the re-purposed garland, as well as another set of LED dot lights along the base. I glued red berries to the tree and added vintage pine cones and a bit of greenery below the deer. I had a piece of wire that was dotted with red berries, so I strung that in the trees. The deer is from The Dollar Tree, the 6 1/2 inch square box is from The Dollar Store.

I have been using up my stash/hoard...what ever you want to call it :)....making these arrangements. I have to say though, I am looking forward to garage sale season to stock up again.
Until Next Time....
Happy Crafting!!!

Plastic Wrap Gift Ball

I wanted something fun to do with the family for Christmas, so thought I would try a plastic wrap gift ball. I had lots of fun picking up random stuff.
Picture of everything that I had intended to use. The box of Chocottone cake ended up being too big to use though.

Glow sticks, cookies, chocolate bar, cough drops, bag clips and Armor All wipes.

See the bag of corn in the back?? I cannot believe that this is edible.....2 ears of corn vacuumed sealed. There is a local food truck that actually cooks and sells this in the summer........The kids and us have talked about the corn for ages, so thought it would be funny to include it.

This gift card box has been kicking around for ages, so thought this was a good time to use it. 10 gift card and a 5 dollar bill.

The idea of the game is to unwrap as much as you can before the person behind you rolls doubles with a pair of dice. You get to keep what you unwrap. We have never played it before, so am really looking forward to it. I really had so much fun putting this together, I also tucked in small amounts of money for added excitement. I will let you all know if this was a hit or a miss.

Until Next Time......

Camera Dump

Lets have a look at some random pictures from the last couple of weeks....
No lights...

Lights on...I did some crafting the other day. This tin had been kicking around for a couple of years and thought it was time to use it for something. I picked up blue battery operated lights by mistake and thought this would be a good use for them. A super quick craft.

Put to use another tin I have has for several years.
A piece of florists foam hot glued to the bottom, battery operated lights, Santa and present pick are all from the "Ain't Nothing A Dollar In This Store Store" lol.
The Happy Holidays pick I have had forever as well as the jingle bells. The pine are pieces from old garland that I have saved..ok ok hoarded over the years.
The Santa and Present are hanging tree ornaments, I cut off the hangers and use bamboo skewers wrapped in floral tape to make them into "picks".
A Vintage pick is to the right of the Santa face, I bought a massive box full a couple of years ago at a sale and have been slowly using them.

I won the box of Purdys chocolates on Monday at the last Lion's Club meeting of the year. Oh boy...they are yummy!! The Husband brought home the Date Squares...my all time favorite... that were left over from one of his many work Christmas events. I will freeze half for later. The mug is just there...too lazy to move it for the picture.

The plan is to make a pile of Rosette's on Sunday for Hubby to take to work. I do not deep fry in the house, gives me a wicked headache for some reason, so will set up the deep fryers in the garage. As you can see, I have picked up two sets at garage sales over the years.

Have not done a puzzle in such a long time, so pulled one out last nite.

The tree looks crooked because it is, it feels like I have straightened it out a million times!! I have added some purple and red glass balls since this picture was taken. The dog likes the Deer...sigh :)

This is in the main bathroom on top of a cupboard. Another of the lighted pictures I have made. Once again the lighting is so very off...the walls are pink..yup pink...and no, not my choice, the house came like that.

Yet another lighted picture I made this year. This is the side of the fireplace, I like how the mantle wraps around the side, more room for displays.

I placed this stand at the end of the island in the Kitchen. The Snowman on the top right lights up.

This poor Vintage arrangement looks worse and worse as the years go on. I bought this at a garage sale many years ago...it is barely staying together anymore. Every year I mean to fix it up and never do it...to tell the truth I like it how it is...a little ragged and tired...for some reason it makes me smile. The Be Thankful plaque is also a garage sale find from a few years ago, I move it all over the house. The large Angel on the right came from....you guessed it lol a garage sale, this time a local Church was selling donated items...she also gets moved all over the house. Nothing seems to stay in one spot for very long.

How was that for a bunch of random pictures...looks like I have to get out more and take some nature shots though lol.

Until Next Time......

Red Rose Tea Miniatures

I had my eye on the auction for these Red Rose miniature tea pots. I waited for the opening bid to hopefully be reduced, when it was I bid. I was the only bid, so maybe I should have waited longer :)

There were 11 in total, 10 still in the plastic with the made in China sticker which was not pictured, I assumed they were made by Wade and did not research them till I picked them up. Not a big disappointment, I would still have bought them just a surprise. I was also surprised to find out they were made in 1996, I assumed they were much newer than that.

I have left the doubles in the packages to sell or if I ever find someone to trade with.

I like the detail on them. Thinking the sewing machine is my favorite.

Just to show they are quite large compared to the others.
This has been a passive collection of mine for years. I do not buy them on FleaBay or go out of my way to find them. Keeping that in mind, with the tea pots my passive collection numbers 67 now.

Until Next Time.....

Vintage Finds #3

Went to a local monthly Market this past Saturday. There were many vendors there, all selling used items, except for one seller. I managed to find a few Vintage Christmas things. I really like this Market, the sellers are all so very nice and they are so many things to choose from. We have been thinking about setting up there with some records, just to see how it would go over.

I was happy to find this for $2. I am getting low on tacky plastic greenery.

Hard to tell the size,  but this is a large Poinsettia and other assorted goodies. A deal at .50 cents.
It will all get a good wash and dry before using.

Vintage tree topper. I looked on line and could only find a Santa face with the metal back ground, with the "angel hair" being his beard. I bought this from the same seller as the first picture also $2.00. There was a price tag of 12.00 on this, as I was putting it down he told me that price was from when they "had the store" and to flip it over, 2.00 was on the other side. Had a quick chat with him about Vintage ornaments. His table was mainly Vintage Christmas, all with good prices.

We have been to this Market a few times and always manage to come home with some new treasures.

Until Next Time....
