This is what I woke up to.....the second last day of summer. The snow from the other day had melted and we had cooler temps. At least we had time to store away all the yard art in preparation for winter.
Drove to the next town over last nite to fill our water bottles. The water here is not drinkable, well to us anyways. There is a u-fill at the local laundry mat. In our Village the cost is $6.75 for 18.9 Liters, plus a $10.00 deposit per bottle, not a u-fill, a swap out type of thing. More convenient for sure, but too pricey. the u-fill is $2.50 for the same size bottle.
There is a book exchange in the laundry mat/water building. I picked up these.
I love the quote from the author of A Vanishing Breed.
"I never learned anything while I was talking"
There is also a local book exchange, so will take them there when I am done with them. I have sold/donated box after box of books, so am trying to be careful what I bring into the house.
There is a little beautiful store in the same town that I stop at every chance I get. It is in a tiny little house, just jammed full of everything you could image. Home decor, vintage and some new items. I have bought several pieces of Fenton there. The prices are very good, and there was a 20% off sale. I found these to add to my Wade collection.
I did not have these three, so was happy to find them, and at a great price.
The detail is amazing in these little guys! These three bring the count up to 60, all different. Not bad for a passive collection, I have piles of doubles and triples that I have to sell at some point.
At the same shop I bought this.
Spaghetti squash and zucchini, for $1.00 each. We like the zucchini sauteed with garlic and sweet onions, yummy. The shop owner was selling the veggies for her sister, the sister planted half a pack of seeds and ended up with over 150 squash!
How is that for One Stop Shopping?
Happy Hunting!
