What Sold #3

What Sold #3

Sold more from the Estate we purchased a couple of months ago. Nothing worth showing pictures of though. Lots of tools went, which was nice to have the space back in the garage. The remainder of the household furniture went to Auction this past week end, as well as more garage items. I will do an Auction update of what sold in a few weeks when we get the cheque, going by our numbers I think we did quite well.

I sold this metal and wicker organizer, NIB.  It was in that tote of Christmas that I bought at the Auction.

I picked up these Halloween blow molds this summer at two different sales. I was kinda on the fence about keeping them or not, common sense prevailed and I sold them.

Have also been selling LP's, have not even made a dent in all that was bought. I think I will be 100 before they are all sold!

I was also busy buying at the Auction this past Saturday.

The above was in a large trunk shaped tote....I have to stop buying those (not likely ha)

This Elf is adorable, he looks so smug. I wonder what was in his hand?

More Vintage glass Christmas ornaments to add to my ever growing collection. These were the first items up for bid at the Auction, they were in a large shoe box mixed with all sorts of Christmas ornaments. I was super surprised to find the horn. There was also a bird, but sadly he was broken.

I always wonder about the "story" behind the items at Auction sales. Written on the side of the shoe box is:

"To Kathy These are for Kathy When I'm gone Love Gram"

Who was Kathy, how did these end up at an auction sale? Did Kathy even know about these?

A person we were talking to at the Auction was telling us that she had purchased a box full of random items. When sorting through it she found photo albums, and in one of the albums there was also a Marriage Certificate. By doing a little digging she was able to return the albums, the Marriage Cert. and many of the other items she bought to the family. The story was that an elderly lady had passed and her sister hauled EVERYTHING to Auction without letting the rest of the family know or even giving them the opportunity to have a keepsake. An act of spite was erased by the kindness of a stranger.

What are your Auction stories, I would love to hear them.

Until next time.....
Happy Hunting!!
